Tuesday Race Nights at The Dragon
Join us in an evening of Scalextric racing mayhem!
Race Nights are held EVERY FIRST THURSDAY of EVERY MONTH from 7.30pm onwards at The Dragon in Nottingham. Race Nights are open to anyone aged 18 and over to drop in and have a go or to compete in friendly races. Medals are awarded for the top three winners and for those who have driven like Miss Daisy, they walk away with The Badge of Shame.
CAN I BRING MY OWN CAR?
Yes! But as the track is Scalextric Sport Digital youíll need to have a chip installed which can be purchased from most model shops. Before using it on The Racing Room circuit your car will need to be tested (just bring it along before you want to race it). Racing your own car is at your own risk. Donít be a cry baby if someone else breaks your prized hot rod, we will not get involved in disputes over broken wing mirrors and spoilers!
RACE NIGHT ENTRY
Race Night is open to all. It costs only £5 to have a go or take part in races. Cars and controllers are provided. Entry into the pub is always free on Race Nights if you just want to watch.
7.30pm - Doors Open/Practice
A BIT MORE ABOUT THE TRACK
Rip it up round the Old Market Square, dash down the M1 to Donington Park, and propel yourself into the caves of Nottingham. The track at The Dragon has a number of long straights, tight bends, sweeping curves and a steep hill climb.
The slot car system is Scalextric Digital, which means up to 6 cars can be on track at any one time, change lanes and with some crafty nerdery, your race timings are fully computerised and on display on the leader board. The computer system can also be configured to add fuel loads, making the racing experience, that bit more strategically involved.
